Creative expression has always been my passion. Throughout my life, I was told that you can’t support yourself financially within the arts. So, I took a different path and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Finance. For over three years, I’ve worked as a financial manager at a Fortune 500 company, honing my skills in a world far removed from my artistic dreams.
I started selling on Poshmark in February 24’ to make extra income and mitigate the rising cost of living, due to inflation. This community opened my eyes to the potential of sustainable fashion. I began working with reused clothing, experimenting with staging and offering descriptive item descriptions , ensuring buyers received exactly what they were looking for. Too often, people buy used clothing only to receive items with more stains, rips, and pills than expected.
My goal is to show people that clothing can be reused. It’s an affordable way to express yourself and protects the planet from the environmental impact of manufacturing new products. Additionally, it allows individuals to express themselves at a much lower cost. Through my work on Poshmark, I aim to promote sustainable fashion, a circular economy and demonstrate that style and sustainability can go hand in hand.
Ethical practices are at the core of everything I do. I believe in transparency, fair pricing, and ensuring that every piece of clothing I sell meets high standards of quality and integrity. My commitment to ethical practices extends beyond just the products I sell; it encompasses our entire studio, from sourcing to selling, ensuring that every step has respect and responsibility for our planet in mind.
Throughout my professional career, my passion for art and fashion never waned. I have always believed in the power of abstract ideas and the value of hard work. These aspects of my life remained separate but am thrilled to finally bring them together through déjà vu studios
